Control Systems Programmer

The Control Systems Programmer will report directly to the VP Advanced Technical Services with USIS AudioVisual Systems. Hours of Operation are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with a one hour lunch break and overtime, as required. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop code, touchpanel files and supporting documentation during and at the end of the project lifecycle
  • Ability to accept direction, and be held accountable for all assignments from Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Provide remote and on-site support (internally and externally) of complex AV integration projects to the AudioVisual (AV) Project Team, including Project Managers, Field Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, AV Technicians, AV Installers, Shop Technicians, Quality Control Engineers
  • Ability to effectively manage workload of all assigned projects
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Sales, Engineering, and Operations
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously from project inception through client acceptance
  • Identify system architecture discrepancies and resolve creatively with the client team, and internal project stakeholders
  • When required, travel outside metro NY area for job responsibilities. USIS AudioVisual Systems to pay for transportation, hotel, and per diem costs incurred
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to pass drug and background screenings

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of Intermediate Crestron and/or AMX certification is required, Advanced/Master level is preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and articulate information contained on audiovisual system schematics
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly with clients
  • Self starter that could think and work independently
  • Detail-oriented and collaborative team player
  • Intermediate to advanced level of understanding network architecture
  • Ability to follow process and procedure
  • Computer proficiency with experience in Microsoft Office programs and audio digital signal processing (DSP) programs (ClearOne, Biamp, Polycom, etc.)
  • InfoComm International CTS certification is a plus
