Can We Call Them “Mutual Customers” Now? Cisco + Microsoft

Webex? Zoom? MS Teams? Other? Which one… Well, if you missed this year’s Microsoft Ignite, we have big news for you.

Cisco becomes a certified Microsoft Rooms devices partner
Cisco becomes a certified Microsoft Rooms devices partner

Cisco will become a certified Microsoft Rooms devices partner. Customers of either platform will have the option of running Microsoft Teams or Webex meetings natively on Cisco devices.

Wait. What? Yes!

The initial wave of Teams-certified Cisco devices will arrive in the first half of 2023. The full portfolio should eventually include Cisco Board Pro, Cisco Room Bar, Cisco Room Kit Pro, Cisco Room Navigator, Cisco Desk Pro, Cisco Desk Camera 4K, Headset 320, and Headset 720.

Webex by Cisco isn’t going anywhere either. All Cisco devices will also continue to support joining Webex meetings.

With so many organizations managing more than one, or even two or three, video conference devices and their supported peripherals, Cisco announcing native support for Teams is a step closer to video collaboration equity, when all participants, regardless of platform and physical location, will have an equal meeting experience.
